History
Fort Humboldt is haunted by a former post commander who died of malaria in 1859. His apparition can be seen looking out the window of the fort’s hospital. Activity includes large, heavy objects being moved across the floor at night, lights turning on and off, objects and falling. Such occurrences started being reported during the 1950s, and began happening on a regular basis after 1993.
