The Fredonia State College, which is located in Fredonia, New York, is a college that houses both the living and the dead. Years ago, one of its students, James “Jimmy” Robert Igoe, drowned during a fishing trip to Lake Erie. Now, he haunts the college, slamming doors, playing around with the bathrooms and their water system, messing around with the elevator, changing television channels, and turning lights on and off. It is said that if you ask him to stop, he will listen to you.
In honor of Jimmy, the residence hall formerly known as Building E (which opened in the 1970s) was renamed Igoe Hall. For the most part, the residence is a co-ed, four bedroom, suite-style hall, and it features an academic photo lab located in the basement. In addition, there is a kitchen area and a laundry facility. The Igoe Hall is nestled inside the Andrews Complex, and is across from the Igoe/Hendrix parking lot.
