History
The Clinton Insane Asylum has had reports of strange lights at night and a woman standing in the window. It is believed that if you turn your car off, it will have trouble starting back up. Not much is known about the hospital other than this. It later became the VA center in Clinton.

Does anyone know where exactly it is located? I work at the VA Center in Clinton and I was talking to a co-worker whom thinks that the VA center is where it used to be at, before it was a TB center.
Rumor has it that the address is ‘Clinton, Ok 73601’. It was the only address I could find, so I’m not exactly sure if it is the real address or not – but I’m hoping it is.

That’s not an “address” that’s just a town. We know its in Clinton but where at?
I know it’s not really an address…but it was the closest thing I can find to an address. Sorry. It is highly possible, though, that the VA building is on the site.

Is there a way I could figure it out? Like call someone to get the history of the VA center? Who would have that info?
My best guesses would be to 1) talk with a town historian 2) see if there is anyone knowledgeable at the Clinton VA center or 3) check out the local library or the Internet. I’m pretty sure option 1 would be your best bet, but I’m not positive. I wish I could be of more help.

Yes, the VA center, by my research, is on same site.
Nice! And thanks for getting back to me!

My father in-law just retired from
The VA and I grew up thinks the VA had the asylum also. But, he said no there never was an asylum at the VA area. It was originally a place to put TB patients so they could be separated. This was in the early 1930’s, it was the east wing of the now VA. And there is a cemetery out to the south behind the houses that are on the grounds of the VA. The building that is directly to the East of the VA was the nurses quarters. The building to the south west of VA was for segregation of “colored” workers. But has been storage for years. And lastly my father in law, said the only asylum that was in Clinton was where farm rail is if your leaving town and heading towards the golf course. Hope that helps.
